THE NEGOTIATION IS OVER ALLIANCE
Camille Marino, Founder & Publisher. Negotiating with abusers is an exercise in futility and veganism is essential. The only action that matters to the imprisoned is the one that imparts freedom. It is a moral obligation to protect the innocent whenever we can — and direct action, sabotage, or subduing the violent with violence is a necessary tactic. Free speech needs to be pushed. Oppression needs to be resisted. And activists need to engage. Emotion and passion drive action, not sterile debate. We need to tear down the hierarchical structures, including capitalism, which demand exploited classes. There is no weaker segment of society than the nonhuman animals who’s voices have been silenced. NIO promotes a Militant Abolitionist philosophy and seeks to address the scope of the issues that foster classism, racism, sexism, and speciesism. We strive to build bridges between social movements and envision total liberation — for ALL animals and the earth.

Dr. Steven Best, Senior Editor of Total Liberation. Associate professor of philosophy at UTEP, award-winning writer, noted speaker, public intellectual, and seasoned activist, Dr. Best engages the issues of the day such as animal rights, ecological crisis, biotechnology, liberation politics, terrorism, mass media, globalization, and capitalist domination. Best has published 10 books, over 100 articles and reviews, spoken in over a dozen countries, interviewed with media throughout the world, appeared in numerous documentaries, and was voted by VegNews as one of the nations “25 Most Fascinating Vegetarians.” He has come under fire for his uncompromising advocacy of “total liberation” (humans, animals, and the earth) and has been banned from the UK for the power of his thoughts. From the US to Norway, from Sweden to France, from Germany to South Africa, Best shows what philosophy means in a world in crisis.

Jason Miller, Wildlife Liaison. Founder & Publisher of Thomas Paine’s Corner, press officer for the NAALPO, and Founder of Bite Club KC, Jason has become a fierce of defender of wildlife, employing both creativity and an uncompromising militance. In his words: “Having grown weary of watching members of the JCPRD board, Michael Meadors, Randy Knight, the Kansas Department of Wildlife, and the rest of those responsible for the impending Shawnee Mission Park deer slaughter hide behind abstractions and sell unsuspecting compassionate people on the notion that ‘culling’ the deer is the ONLY option and that it will be a ‘humane’ process, I decided to bring a little dose of reality into their lives, and into the lives of the public.” And reality — the face of death — is exactly what Miller brought to the table. Reminiscent of the notorious horse’s head scene in the classic movie, this last bold maneuver by Miller has earned him the title “Godfather”.
.
Gary Yourofsky, Advisor of Vegan Education. Founder of ADAPTT (Animals Deserve Absolute Protection Today and Tomorrow). Yourofsky uses his notoriety (including 13 arrests, a mink liberation in Canada in ‘97, and banishment from five countries) to reach tens of thousands of students through approximately 250 engagements annually in public schools and universities across the country. He uses thought-provoking prose, inspiring stories, indisputable facts, quotes from Pythagoras, William Ralph Inge and other great thinkers, plus graphic footage from slaughterhouses (land and sea), to ask people to be kind to animals and, ultimately, go vegan.

Peter Young is NIO’s Senior Editor of Animal Liberation and the creator of VoiceOfTheVoiceless.org. Young is a veteran animal liberation activist and former political prisoner convicted for his role in liberating thousands of animals from fur farms across the country. Emerging from a grand jury indictment, 7 years of being wanted by the FBI, a federal prison sentence, and nearly 15 years in the animal liberation movement; today Peter is a frequent lecturer at universities and events, writer on liberation movements, and unapologetic supporter of those who work outside the law to achieve human, earth, and animal liberation.
.
Chandra Greco, Factory Farming Liaison: Founder of DIVA Sanctuary Inc. (for victims of the food industry): We are animal activists who aim to eliminate animal suffering within the dairy industry. Our MISSION is threefold: to provide lifelong care to victims of the food industry (chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, pigs, sheep, goats and of course, food cows and veal calves); to educate the public about humane animal care and modern agribusiness and to promote a VEGAN lifestyle: for the animals, for our health and for the PLANET!
.
scarlett, Vivisection Liaison: Scarlett has ties to the legal and vivisection communities. Although her contribution to NIO is substantial, she must remain anonymous at this point in time.

All you lucky bastards actually speaking out XP I’m so envious of you guys. You all rock. Camille, sis, I miss you u__u We never talk anymore. We haveta talk soon!
So glad to see everyone pulling together, and that you’ve got a great network now
This is so awesome for you, I’m so proud and happy!! And you were once worried about speaking out, using your real name, and retaliation
See how far everyone has come, and the things you’re doing?! You’re so fucking awesome, sis!!
Hey Jen,
How are you my Little Militant Sis?
I am so honored to count these people among my allies… animal liberationists are a separate community within the movement and together we are stronger — I believe that.
I always used my real name and spoke my mind… then I allowed myself to be swayed by apathetic pacifists that I needed to be quiet and anonymous. Fortunately, that only lasted a few months.
Seriously, Jen, if above-ground activists are afraid to make noise, they’re useless. That’s what this is about — standing up and saying ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!
How have you been. It’s been an incredibly hectic couple of weeks, so I haven’t written many emails. Yes, we have to catch up.
